Item Description
Single spessartine garnet specimens from Shengus very seldom display the fine aesthetics and drama of this piece. A 2.6 cm, textbook trapezohedron is elegantly perched on the starkly contrasting albite matrix. The crystal looks root-beer brown under low-light conditions, but GLOWS under bright light. When backlit, the gemmy crystal has deep blood-red to riveting cherry-red to firey orange-red hues. The spessartine is complete all-around and pristine. The contacting on the back, with no damage, per se, is out of sight. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock. Herb valued very fine piece at $500, five or more years ago. Valued at $1000-1250 today and worth it.
