Most scapolite specimens from the 2000s finds at Morogoro were a rich golden yellow. Vivid purple tetragonal crystals, such as this fine example, were uncommon. This is a beautiful, richly colored, sharply terminated, gemmy translucent, 360-degree crystal. Nearly pristine, with only a few termination edge wilbers. Modest orange-red fluoresence. From an East Coast collection. 35 grams mass.
