Gemmy Realgar crystals

Item Description

A striking cluster of gorgeous, gemmy, intensely cherry-red, realgar prisms from China. These are beautiful, sharply terminated and well-striated crystals. The display view is in good shape, with the periphery wear on one end being a modest detraction. The basal crystal on the back side is dinged. This is showy and fine 1980s material, when they first reached the West. These are amongst the most beautiful red crystals in the mineral kingdom. However, note that they can be very light-sensitive and turn dark over time when exposed to light!
