Item Description
Classic gemmy Tourmaline Queen Mine elbaite from old (1970s-1980s mostly) finds. Beautiful color-zoning highlights this highly desirable crystal. The very glassy, well-striated trigonal crystal has a very gemmy (hard to see), 6 mm termination zone. The water-clear termination is a fabulous narrow 3 mm reddish-purple cap with a blue-blue zone below. A gorgeous 5 mm teal-blue zone and a gray zone follow. Pretty pink lies above the grayish-green layer, with a very dark purple or black schorl core at the base. Complete all-around and in great shape. There's a bit of embedded lepidolite on a termination edge with edge contacting below, but with very little, if any actual damage. Another prism face is embedded with a myriad of tiny tourmalines. This is very fine, colorful and shapely example of the classic style and famed locale. SELDOM on the market today. 53 grams mass. Valued at $2000. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!
