Item Description
A classic and beautiful purple cap indicolite-blue trigonal tourmaline from the circa 2010 finds at the famous Pederneira Mine. The gemmy, very glassy, highly lustrous, well-striated layered parallel-growth crystal is dramatically accented with the matte-purple pinacoidal termination. Beautiful indicolite-blue is followed by the teal-blue body. Complete all-around and essentially pristine. The one clean repair about half way down the crystal is certainly acceptable in the context of pegmatite species. The crystal glows, when backlit. VERY difficult to photograph correctly with the gemminess, glassiness, high lustre, striations and interior layering. MUCH better in person! A classic Pederneira purple-cap indicolite. 18 grams mass.
