Gemmy Indicolite Tourmaline (classic locale - 16 grams)

Gem, bi-colored tourmaline from circa 2010s finds at the renowned Pederneira Mine. The body of the very glassy, highly lustrous, well-striated, layered trigonal crystal is a beautiful indicolite blue. A 7 mm teal-green section caps the crystal with an interesting modified pinacoidal termination with a matte lustre finish. A few pink lepidolites at the base are a nice accent. Complete all-around and essentially pristine. The two clean repairs are certainly acceptable in the context of pegmatite species. A classic and desirable indicolite from this famous mine. 16 grams mass. Much better in person!
