Gemmy Grossular Garnets

Beautiful, gemmy and lustrous, light cinnamon-brown grossular garnets to 8 mm richly and attratively cover the sculptural matrix plate on this showy and most excellent thumbnail from the famous and now-closed Jeffrey Mine. The isolation of the glassy garnets is very noteworthy, as most such pieces exhibit densely intergrown crystals. The matrix is mostly tiny vesuvianite crystals.
