Item Description
Beautiful light green very glassy and gemmy fluorite cubes, to 1.7 cm, are very densely intergrown on this colorful, impressive, large mounded specimen from this historic district where lead mining started around the 15th century with fluorite mining in the 19th and 20th centuries. The last mine closed in 1987 (MINDAT). Many fluorite color varieties have been produced by the mines, including rich yellow pieces, but this is easily the finest gemmy green color specimen we have seen. Bright purple fluorescence. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 1988 from Howard Minerals. The piece displays well from either side without aid. BETTER in person.
