Item Description
Gorgeous, doubly terminated, equant, lustrous, lime-green, peridot crystals from Soppat, Pakistan - a beautiful modern classic though somewhat rarer of late than in the 90s! This is a very fine cluster of what have become some of the finest peridot crystals in the world available to collectors. No world locality has produced the quality and quantity of euhedral peridot crystals like Soppat. This is a high, remote mountainous region that is literally accessible only a few months of the year, forbidding even by tribal standards here. Both of the crystals are gem quality, 'cutter' material. The striking frontal crystal is 3.8 cm. The crystals are pristine. These were relatively common for a short while and now are hard to get. An outstanding peridot specimen from a local collection, exchanged to me and valued at $1500
