Classic and excellent old-time calcite from the historic mines of the Joplin Field. Glorious golden-yellow color highlights the striking gemmy and lustrous twin parallel-growth terminations. They look like a fishtail twin, but aren't. The dense internal crosshatching to the very glassy crystals add even more pizzazz to this pristine and sculptural 360-degree classic. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 6978 and acquired from Kristalle in July, 1973. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
