Item Description
A very fine, very aesthetic, old-time combination classic from the Himalaya Mine. A pristine, 6.1 cm, gemmy and lustrous, well-striated, classic "Himalaya pink" elbaite crystal is exquisitely set in a striking, sharply and complexly terminated, lustrous, translucent, smoky quartz crystal. The smoky terminations are essentially pristine, with only barely visible wilbers. Muscovite books and tourmaline fragments are noted at the broken base of the smoky. The smoky has a clean repair and there is a possibility, that the elbaite has been reattached to the smoky. Repaired gem pegmatite specimens are certainly acceptable in today's market. This excellent and classic combo displays well from several angles, as you can see. The old faded label is probably from Ward's and dates to the 1960s and probably earlier. Combination specimens of this age and quality are just not that common from the Himalaya. Valued at $3500-5000 and well worth it.
