Gemmy DT twinned Calcite (Consie Prince Coll.)

Item Description

Beautiful, gemmy, calcite from Elmwood. The two, stacked, intergrown crystals are both twinned and the terminations have excellent golden-amber color and gemminess. Dramatic, indeed. Specimens of this quality are becoming notably scarce with the closing of the mine. This piece does have gently cleaved terminations that can be seen on careful study. Still, it is a highly representative and showy example of the famed species and locale and the slight tip wear is both common and acceptable at a fair price, when the display qualities are so good otherwise. 1970s-1980s material, Ex Consie Prince Collection.
