Item Description
A striking, gorgeous, gemmy, CABINET calcite from Elmwood! The multiply stacked, intergrown crystals are twinned at the top and the terminations have excellent golden-amber color and gemminess. Dramatic, indeed. Specimens of this quality are becoming notably scarce with the closing of the mine. This is an excellent, large, complete all-around crystal group. The single termination has trivial edgewear and the terminations on the multi-end have even less edgewear. A single, trivial point of edgewear is noted on the front. There is a damage-free contact, below the single termination, where a purple fluorite once was and the base of the cluster is cleaved on this side. The back shows a nifty merger of the multiple terminations and is actually in better condition, but does not display as well. This is a dramatic, large and highly representative example of the famed species and locale. Valued $900-1200. Ex Consie Prince Collection. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!!
