Gemmy DT Sapphire (uncommon locale)

Item Description

A cute and rare doubly terminated thumbnail sapphire crystal from an obscure Sri Lanka locale. The typically tapered and striated crystal is extremely glassy. Parts of the crystal are colorless, water-clear gem, parts are translucent with brownish-pink color and parts are tinted light brown. The unusual flat terminations and orange fluorescence add interest. 14.01 carats mass. Valued by the former dealer at $350 for rarity and quality. A fine sapphire from this less well-known locale.
