Item Description

A 1.8 cm, gemmy and lustrous, bright cherry-red, drill bit-twinned cinnabar crystal is aesthetically set on showy and very ununusal, two-sided plate. The cinnabar rests on glassy quartz crystals and is nicely accented by a few, nearby, off-white, dolomite rhombs and several, starkly contrasting, amber calcite rhombs along one edge. Flip the plate over and it is totally covered with the lustrous, translucent calcite rhombs. What a very nice surprise! Outstanding cinnabar combination material from the old Pete Bancroft Collection (Pete wrote the mid-1980s classic GEM AND CRYSTAL TREASURES). Valued at $750.
