13 beautiful, stout, gemmy, rich amber calcite rhombs are artistically set on the dramatic large elongated two-sided specimen from the 2009 find at this large open pit iron-copper mine complex. The striking rhombs rest on the thin shale matrix plate covered with tiny sparkly calcite rhombs. The water-clear to translucent rhombs reach 5.5 cm and have glass-clear to frosted faces, adding character. These caused quite a stir at the 2009 Munich Show and the 2010 Tucson Show. Complete all-around and pristine. China has produced an outstanding myriad of calcite shapes, forms and colors and this an exceptional large two-sided calcite from the find and locale. note that the locality long given is suspect, and many of us think they actually came from a working coal mine near Chongching in Sichuan Province,
