Item Description

Stunning, sharp, beautiful, gemmy, glassy, golden-yellow to golden-brown, complex calcite rhombs are aesthetically clustered on the spare shale matrix plate. The impressive large frontal rhomb is 5.0 cm across. It is essentially pristine, with only three small edge contacts, with no damage, per se. The color variations are due to iron oxide content. This is an impressive and exceptional small cabinet plate from the 2009 find at this large open pit iron-copper mine complex. The other crystals are pristine. These caused quite a stir at the 2009 Munich Show and the 2010 Tucson Show. The crystals have a gorgeous golden glow when backlit. One of the finest examples in this size range we have seen, found after years of hiding in our back warehouse.
