Item Description
A beautiful and rare gemmy, bi-colored elbaite from this very obscure pegmatite mine in the Itinga area. The glassy, etched, frosted termination is a pretty rose-pink followed by a 5 mm, gem, vibrant teal-blue zone. The gem base is a rich cranberry-red. Complete all-around. Some contacting is noted on the back side, but there is very little actual damage. Very colorful and rare elbaite from the Art Soregaroli Collection. Art was the Co-Editor of the large format, 2010, 544 page, Peru - Paradise of Minerals book. Mass is 81.49 carats or over 16 grams. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!
