Item Description

An adorable old-time bi-colored thumbnail tourmaline from the famous Cruzeiro Mine. The gemmy, lustrous, well-striated trigonal crystal has a striking beautiful gem cranberry-red multiple termination. A 5 mm blue-gray zone follows. A pretty pink sheath encases the layered blue-gray body. The rich sprinkling of pink lepidolites is a super accessory. Complete all and pristine. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 9841and acquired in January,1983 from the Lidstrom's. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017). Classic old-time Cruzeiro Mine tourmaline from the 1960s-70s finds. 14 grams mass.
