Item Description
This shapely and colorful Malkhan tourmaline was for many years on display at the Pala International shop in Fallbrook, California. The gemmy and lustrous, well-striated, bi-colored crystal has a rich pink area (backlit) beneath the complex sloping pyramidal termination with mostly frosted faces. It looks cranberry-red in most of the photos. A glassy pink rind surrounds the olive-green core. One prism face is richly covered with tiny pink tourmalines. The crystal, itself, is pristine. A small contact, with no damage, per se and trivial bruising to small tourmalines at the base are noted, but have very minimal impact to the overall high quality of this fine elbaite. 137 grams mass. Valued at $2500-3000.
