Most of this outstanding old-time, bi-colored tourmaline from Virgem da Lapa has exceptional water-clear gemminess, about the best we have offered from any tourmaline in the auctions. The complex pyramidal termination is strikingly contrasting light yellow-green. The limpid, very glassy body is a subtle rose, that grades down to a beautiful teal-blue. The translucent basal section is emerald-green with a nifty tipped phantom at the top! Classic and superb old-time elbaite from the 1960s or 70s. Difficult to photograph due to the extreme gemminess, glassiness and subtle colors. 38.86 carats mass or over seven grams. Valued at $2000. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!!
