Gemmy bi-colored Tourmaline (old classic)

An old-time classic from the famous Cruzeiro Mine. This excellent, gemmy, lustrous and well-striated crystal has a beautiful gemmy, bottle-green body followed by a narrow, 2 mm, pretty, dark sky-blue zone, just below the termination. The frosted termination has black and blue swirls. The backlit photos really highlight the gemminess and pretty color saturations. This is also a watermelon tourmaline as the core at the base is pink. This classic cutie, from the 1960s or 70s, is nearly pristine, with only very trivial termination edgewear and the sidecar crystal has a broken tip. Cruzeiros of this style and quality are not often seen today, except in older advanced recycled collections. 18 grams.
