Item Description
Mawi pegmatite tourmalines are rare compared to those from Pech or Paprok. This beautiful, sculptural, gemmy, lustrous and well-striated bicolored crystal has a pleasing pink body. The 4 mm pastel-green layer is capped by a gorgeous, gem 4 mm teal-green section that underlies the striking narrow 1 mm purple to clear termination. The lustrous pinacoid termination face is frosted. The three enechelon side cars on one side with the same color scheme add lots of pizzazz to this cutie. The rich pink color is subdued, as this crystal is actually a watermelon tourmaline. A narrow 1 mm green rind encases the crystal. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, part of the tip of the middle side car and adjacent area are bruised, but have minimal impact to the high quality of this colorful and uncommon tourmaline from the Herb Obodda Collection # 3292. 67 grams mass.
