Item Description
A beautiful, gemmy and lustrous, bi-colored tourmaline with accessories from the famous Himalaya Mine. Most of the crystal is a very gemmy olive-green. Above is a classic, pretty "Himalaya-pink" zone. The frosted, modified, pinacoidal terminatin is underlain by the narrow, pretty, teal-blue zone. Below the olive-green body is translucent, dark olive-green section. The tectonically (in pocket) broken and "re-healed" lower section, causing the crystal to bend is followed by the shimmering, silvery-green base. Gemmy lavender lepidolites are preferentially set on set face of the crystal and the super accessory is the 2.5 cm, glassy, flattened, doubly terminated, smoky quartz crystal with lepidolites. The lower base may be terminated, but it's very hard to tell, due to embedded tack, lepidolites and the complex growth of this end. Complete all-around and pristine, this is an outstanding and classic example of bi-colored, well-striated Himalaya tourmaline with very aesthetic accessories. Old material from the 1960s or 70s. 50 grams. Valued at $1750-2000.
