Gemmy bi-colored Tourmaline

Item Description

A beautiful, bi-colored tourmaline from Nigeria. The striking, highly modified pinacoidal termination area is yellow-creek with a gorgeous cranberry color body below. The interior of the gemmy and lustrous crystal has a striking layered/swirly look. All of the prism faces are lightly etched/frosted. The colors and termination make this a very fine older example from this locale. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only super trivial termination edge wear and a bit of contacting near the base. The backlit photos highlight the rich color saturations and internal layering. 48 grams.
