Item Description
A striking and beautiful, unusually terminated, bi-colored tourmaline from Afghanistan. The termination area is the focal point of this gemmy, lustrous and well-striated beauty. First the termination is a gorgeous teal-blue, but each of the three termination faces are distinctively different! One face is typically pyramidal. The second face is very steeply, modified pyramidal with moderately lustrous, frosted faces. The third face is strikingly etched! The gemmy body is nearly transparent to translucent and is layered with several shades of pleasing green. The base is broken, rehealed and has new growth. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only very modest edge wear at one spot, which is out-of-sight depending how you display the crystal. A most unusual, uncommon and dramatic termination for a pretty bi-colored Afghanistan tourmaline. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock and valued by him at $1450, five or more years ago. 50 grams.
