gem Zircon embedded in Muscovite

Item Description

Bronze, translucent Muscovite blades host a colorful translucent Zircon crystal as an inclusion! The almost perfectly formed, glassy Zircon measures 1.1 cm in length and 0.7 cm across and is completely gemmy with well developed prism and pyramid faces on the half-exposed portion, the rest of the Zircon being embedded in the Muscovite. It has a small bit of either damage or growth defect on the termination at top, not visible easily but you can feel it to the touch. For added interest, there is a smaller, 0.8 cm, fairly well formed, yellow Zircon crystal in close proximity to the larger one. The Muscovite "book" is quite attractive as well with its orange-bronze color, slight translucency and very apparent zoning when held up to the light. The flat portion of the crystal has great luster and a few crystal faces can be discerned along the edges with the others being rather rough. Both Zircons fluoresce a super bright yellow in short wave UV. This is a very unique and attractive small cabinet piece from Burma!
