gem Tourmaline var. Indicolite (doubly-terminated)

Item Description

This gorgeous, completely transparent, gem rough quality tourmaline came out around 1999 from a small pocket of which I bought nearly all of the contents from a dealer in gem rough at the time. I had long ago sold all pieces, and then this came back to me in a collection cull/purchase a few years ago. I have not seen the mine produce comparable material since this find, and now the mine is closed for all practical purposes for further pegmatite mining after blasting out the current peg on all sides into barren rock. This crystal is pristine, complete, and doubly-terminated.Valued $2500. 24 grams: These sold for $60 per gram at the time.
