Item Description

Sharp complete all-around orthorhombic topaz crystals are very uncommon from Spain. Topaz specimens from Spain are uncommon from the five localities listed by MINDAT. Most specimens have come from the San Nicolas Mine. This is a beautiful sharp light blue gem crystal with water-clear and frosted faces. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, the contact at the tip has only trivial bruising, which is certainly only a modest detraction. Deposits were intermittently mined from 1912 to 1990 and topaz specimens are seldom on the market. Ex Baltasar Sanchez and Raul Orellana Collections. Mass is 43.13 carats or over 8.5 grams. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!
