Gem Topaz (Willard Perkin and Kay Robertson Coll.)

Item Description

An adorable cross-shaped thumbnail cluster of beautiful gem topaz crystals from the Thomas Range. The crystals have fine cognac color and two of the crystals are limpid throughout. The third crystal is included with rhyolite "sand". Classic and very cute older material from the Willard Perkin collection or dealer stock (note the label on his TN box). He is generally credited as the inventor of the "Perky box" for standard thumbnails display. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 3294. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
