Wow! An impressive large gem topaz crystal from an unknown Minas Gerais locale, perhaps Virgem da Lapa, Teofilo Otoni or Itinga. This amazing tapering light greenish-blue crystal has most dramatic etched and contacted prism faces, that are essentially pristine. The termination has been sawed and polished and the base is a cleavage. These faces reveal the absolute water-clear gem quality of the crystal, which has very few interior veils. Weighing in at 1.0 kilo or 2.2 pounds, this is a most imposing large topaz crystal! Significant in its own right as a specimen, it is also of major cutter quality. Fairly valued at $4000-5000.
