Item Description
This is a fine, tapered gemmy crystal with all 3 colors of the natural trichroic crystal present, with the red on the C-axis being subtle. It has riveting glassy luster that is top of the game; excellent clarity and transparency; and a fullsized thumbnail at 22.84 carats. The bit of color variation and internal crazing really adds character to this cutie. As a specimen, I value it at $1000-1250. As a pure bonus, the gem rough value here is considerable in finished wholesale gems - gem dealers would heat-treat this to make it the deeper jewelry-desired crazy-blue color, and cut away. It should have a relatively high yield in stones from the large central zones and return more than the specimen value alone might. Part of the base is translucent and is nearly colorless. Pristine. A beautiful gem crystal with rich color and trichroism.
