Item Description

RARE smoky halos are clearly visible and dramatically highlight this impressive and aesthetic sculptural cluster of water-clear gem smoky quartz crystals from Minas Gerais, Brazil. The halos you see inside are due to color change from small tiny point sources of radiation within, over millions of years, altering clear quartz to smoky color. Rarely can you find specimens that show this phenomenon on a granular level and see such distinct zones! The darker terminations and stepped-growth prism faces really enhance the very glassy and lustrous crystals on this 360-degree stunner. The individual crystals are water-clear, with the consolidated base being translucent. Essentially pristine, with only the most trivial of termination bruising.
