Item Description
Sillimanite is a high temperature and high pressure aluminum silicate found in high-grade regional metamorphic rocks. Transparent crystals are called "fibrolite" by gemologists. This is a very fine and rare, well-formed tabular crystal slightly rounded by water wear. Most Ratnapura sillimanites are rounded pebbles. This gem crystal has waxy luster and pretty light grayish-blue color. Choice and rare material from the Herb Obodda dealer stock. 3.55 carats mass. This single, gem crystal is worthy of any thumbnail collection and was valued $800-1000
