Item Description

Scorodite is one of the great and desirable rarities from Tsumeb, and are among the world's finest. Few exist on the market, and are seldom seen for sale in ANY quality. Here, a magnificent doubly terminated gem thumbnail is beautifully attached to a bit of matrix. The sharp, adamantine luster crystal has a rich sapphire-blue color. Complete all-around and essentially pristine, this is a "little jewel". One edge appears to have a contact, but there is no damage, per se. This is a killer competition-level thumbnail specimen long residing in the collection of prominent thumbnail collector, Ralph Clark. Valued at $1500-2000.
