Item Description
A beautiful gem golden-yellow scapolite crystal from Tanzania. The sharp termination and glassy prism faces highlight this shapely 360-degree limpid tetragonal crystal. All of the crystal faces are glass-clear, except a primary back prism face with interesting stepped-growth, that adds pizzazz. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a trivial bit of termination edge wear. Scapolite is a series between Marialite and Meionite and is a member of the Scapolite Group. 34.26 carats or nearly 7 grams mass. A fine gem and highly representative example of the species and locale. Ex R.D. Mushlitz Collection.
