Item Description
Gem sapphire crystals are extremely rare from Colombia and are essentially unavailable on the market. This pretty lavender, gemmy and lustrous, crystal is from the only known Colombian locality, an alluvial deposit in Cauca Department. The crystal has a nifty cross-hatched termination and the textbook hexagonal crystal has only very trivial rounding from alluvial abraiding. Ex Irv Brown Thumnbnail Collection. 3.0 carats.
