Item Description
It has been next to impossible to obtain fine quality spinel specimens from Burma these days it seems. This is a classic gemmy Burmese "Ruby Spinel" crystal with relatively sharp, rounded, lustrous, octahedral faces and gorgeous cherry-red color. That's a little side car crystal dimple on one end. The tabular floater crystal was mined around 2000. The best of these specimens are simply the finest in the world for what they are. This is an excellent example of a non-pegmatite gem mineral for collectors or jewelry makers. 1.68 carats.
