Item Description

Four gem, layered phlogopite crystals, with lovely rich golden amber color are jauntily set in the sculptural glassy marble matrix. The quality of the phlogopite is very fine for this locality, and these specimens are not nearly as obtainable as they were a few years ago. The large crystal in th center is 1.4 cm across and has a cleaved top. The two crystals on either side, also have cleaved tops. The crystals GLOW, when backlit. Greenish-yellow fluorescence for the phlogopite and reddish-pink for the marble. An excellent highly represenative example of the species and locale. Ex David Burgess Collection, for whom Burgessite is named.
