Gem Phlogopite xls (fluroescent)

Item Description

Two, gemmy, layered phlogopite crystals, with lovely rich golden amber color are jauntily set on edge of the marble matrix with fragments of smaller crystals on one side. The quality of the phlogopite is very fine for this locality, and these specimens are not nearly as obtainable as they were a few years ago. The large crystal is 1.3 cm and has a cleaved top. The smaller crystal is pristine. The crystals GLOW, when backlit. Greenish-yellow fluorescence for the phlogopite and reddish-pink for the marble. An excellent highly represenative example of the species and locale. From an East Coast collection.
