Item Description
Forsterite variety peridot is seldom available today from this extinct, famous and ancient locale in the Red Sea. These tabular, sharply terminated thumbnail gem crystals have fine form and beautiful yellow-green color. The striations on the prism faces add pizzazz. Specimens can still be obtained from old or recycled collections from time to time. The David New label probably dates from the late 1960s or 1970s. Total mass is 6.94 carats.
