Wow! An expressive and very stout water-clear gem lilac kunzite from the Mawi pegmatite. Seldom do you such equant kunzites, as most are tabular. This limpid crystal has gorgeous pink color, waxy lustrous with well-striated faces and a striking complex termination. The C-axis shot highlights the beautiful pink color saturation. Complete all-around, the termination is nearly pristine, with only trivial edge wear and the bit of embedded matrix. A couple corners are partially bruised lower down and one prism face is partially cleaved. These are certainly only minimal detractions to this most impressive, colorful and unusually stout gem kunzite. Rose-red fluorescence. 193 grams mass. Valued at $2000-2500. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON! The extreme gemminess and glassiness made photography difficult. The pink color is much richer in person.
