Gem Jeremejevite

Item Description

Jeremejevite, a rare gem borate was discovered at Ameib Farm 60 in the Erongo Mountains in 2001. The deposits were quickly mined out and very little has been found since. This fine hexagonal gem crystal has beautiful cornflower-blue color through most of the crystal grading down to colorless at the other end. Both ends of the loose crystal are etched and rehealed, typical for the find. For the size and the gemminess, this is certainly a worthwhile specimen for a gem crystal collector. Valued at $750 by the former dealer.
