A fine limpid gem pencil indicolite tourmaline with classic teal-blue color from circa 2009-2010 finds at the famed Pederneira Mine. The very glassy, highly lustrous, well-striated trigonal crystal is nicely accented by the matte lustre pinacoidal purple termination. Remarkable, in that the gem crystal has only one internal layer. The two very clean repairs on the crystal are certainly acceptable in the context of pegmatite species. VERY difficult to photograph correctly with the gemminess, glassiness, high luster, and striations. MUCH better in person! An excellent and classic gem Pederneira indicolite. Mass is 8 grams. We had one large group of these found in our warehouse storage from the 2010 era, and when it is gone, it is gone!
