Item Description
A stunning gem seafoam-green beryl crystal pair from this famous Minas Gerais District. The rich green color of the textbook hexgonal crystals is accentuated by the striking glass-clear and satin luster faces and by the striking etched/frosted modified pinacoidal termination faces surrounding the fantastic glass-clear termination face giving a super view of the crystal interior. The bit of perpendicular crazing adds even more pizzazz to this beautiful crystal. Interestingly, all of the prism faces on the side car crystal have a satin luster. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a bit of termination edge wear, which certainly has minimal impact to the outstanding quality of this gem crystal. Beryls from this locality have trickled to the market over the years, and they have ranged in color from yellow to green to blue. An exceptional older specimen, probably from the 1960s or 70s. 162 grams mass. Fairly valued at $2000-2500 and well worth it. RARE in the color and quality.
