Item Description
An excellent complement to the earlier bi-colored fluorite in this auction from the Greenlaws Mine. This impressive large and showy plate is festooned with gem purple interpenetrating pairs with white sections. The large twin on the raised area is 1.4 cm across. Rich purple fluorescence. Ex Dr. Stephen Moreton Collection. This piece is illustrated in the MINDAT locality Photo Gallery with a April, 2005 photo by Dr. Moreton. Purple is a more typical fluorite color from this classic old Weardale area lead and fluorite mine and this is a fine large example.
