Item Description

Stunning, beautiful water-clear gem light-blue fluorite cubes have striking purple cores and edges on this impressive large plate from one of China's most famous mines - Yaogangxian. The striking lustrous cubes, to 2,3 cm, are aesthetically clustered and scattered on the sculptural complementary and contrasting matrix plate of muscovite plates with tan siderite disks. The matrix bottom hosts much asenopyrite. Purple fluorescence. See the 2011 Mineralogical Record article in China-III Special Issue, Vol. 42, No. 6. A classic and very large fluorite combination plate of this style and crystal habit. From the well known and important China subcollection of Dr Steve Smale.
