Item Description

An excellent and rare fluorite from this obscure mine, located near the famous Huayllapon Mine (rhodochrosite and fluorite). Water-clear, gem, fluorite cuboctahedrons have very pretty areas of blush-purple color with light green massive fluorite beneath. The striking, crowning crystal is 1.3 x 1.3 x 1.2 cm. The densely stepped-growth crystals leading up to the crown and field of pyrite crystals on the right side really add pizzazz. Specimens of any species are rare from this locale. Probably older material, but no proof. Moderate purple fluorescence. Ex. Art Soregaroli Collection.
