Gem Fluorite cubes (urban Beijing!)

Gorgeous, glassy and lustrous, gem, rich golden-amber fluorite cubes are dramatically festooned on the well-prepared small cabinet matrix plate. The largest cubes are beautifully concentrated in the center of the piece. The three large crystals are 1.3 cm across. Some of the cubes are interpenetrating twins, adding even more character. This old urban Beijing mine was worked with slave labor during World War II and then abandoned. Local collectors recently entered the old workings and recovered a limited number of these beauties during covid in 2022-23. Rich purple LW UV fluorescence. They resemble the classic yellow fluorites from the famous Hilton Mine of Cumbria, England. High praise, indeed! Not many yellow fluorites are worthy of that comparison!
