Item Description
RARE, OLD-TIME fluorite from this well-known Northumberland mine. This old mine was reopened in the 1940s to 80s and all specimens shown in the MINDAT photo gallery are from that era. Very glassy, gemmy, golden-yellow cubes, to 3.0 cm, compose this very attractive mounded specimen. The striking "clouds" included in the cubes resemble the famous fluorites from Clay Center, Ohio, adding much pizzazz. Essentially pristine, with only trivial bruising. This exceptional and rare old-timer has multiple fine display views. From an East Coast collection and comes with a faded around 100-year old label. Purple fluorescence.
